In order for me to join, the maximum weight for my height is 163 lbs which I am only 7 lbs away from reaching. Realizing that I am leaving for MEPS in the beginning of February, I know that I have to change how I workout, the way I eat, and the way I look at fitness all together. My fitness blog is very new and it'd be nice to have some support :) I go to swim practice 5 days a week and have recently gone back to the gym. We deserve to treat our bodies right. Day Nine- Did people ever make comments about your weight in a negative way?
Growing up, my nickname was “fat Che” which made me grow up to absolutely hate my body and develop a horrible self image. Even to this day I get called that. In middle school I eventually developed bulimia. I just had such a terrible self image. Towards the end of my freshman year in high school I stopped purging and I gained weight ‘cause it really screwed with my metabolism. In my family, everyone always made weight a huge deal. I was either too skinny at one point or too fat now. My sister always likes to talk about how perfect her body is, like “I love my tiny waist and hourglass shape” and I feel like she purposely does that to taunt me. There is never any reason for my body to be a topic of discussion. It’s MY body. There’s nothing I want more than to be thin/healthy. I just want to love myself.
Day Eight- Your workout routine.
I’m on a competitive swim team, so I swim for an hour 4 days a week. On the days I don’t have swimming I like to run to the beach and back, which is about 2 miles along the beach that I run. I also run up and down the stairs when I get to the beach and come home and do some push-ups and sit-ups.
Day Seven- Do your parents know you’re trying to lose weight? Do they care?
Yes. My mom knows that I am in the process of losing weight and she’s really supportive of that. The only thing with her is that she makes me really feel bad about myself if I ever want a little snack if it’s not healthy. I’m glad she wants to keep me on track but sometimes I wish she would say it in a way that’s not so harsh.
Day Six- Do you binge? If so, explain why you think you do.
When I first switched to home school, I had so much time on my hands, had no friends so I had all the time in the world, and got so bored and depressed that I was binge eating all the time. I didn’t have a bed time so I would stay up late watching tv and just stuffing my face. Now, I hardly ever binge eat. If I get the urge, I just drink some tea, eat a cutie orange, and do something productive to keep my mind off the food. It’s hard, but it will be worth it.
Day Five- Why do you really want to lose this weight? Are you doing it for you?
It’s been a realization for a while now that I’ve needed to lose weight, but what really got me going is that I need to prepare myself for Navy boot camp. I only have to lose about 5 pounds now until I can join. Yes, I am definitely doing it for me. I want to feel stronger, healthier, beautiful, and prove to myself how strong of a person I really am and that I can accomplish whatever I set my mind to.
Day Four- Your greatest fears about weight loss.
I don’t really have may fears, but diet is kind of hard for me because my mom works 2 jobs so she never has time for cooking and always buys fast food. If I eat fast food that she buys, it’s pretty much the only thing I can eat all day because of all the calories. I also fear that once I get down to my goal weight i’ll always want to lose more and more and more. But i’m very happy with the decision to lose weight and become stronger :)

I really like Sofia Vergara’s body. She looks healthy and fit, yet still has nice curves.
